Currency in the South, The Cyprus Republic, is the Cyprus Pound and the Euro. In the North, the TRNC it is the New Turkish Lira YTL. Credit cards are widely accepted both North and South of Cyprus and are a practical way of spending money in supermarkets, hotels, restaurants and garages.

Cyprus Currency from Cash Machines

Throughout the island of Cyprus, north and south, it is possible to withdraw local currency from "hole-in-the-wall" cash-machines. In the South, the Republic of Cyprus it is possible to withdraw Euros and Cyprus Pounds currence and in the North, the TRNC, it is possible to withdraw YTL currency.
